Hey folks,
So I haven't had a lot of time to be crafting recently, but I have had my eye on some small makes to keep me occupied in quick and quiet times. This has been my favourite. A quick and easy crochet rose!
Take your yarn and your corresponding crochet hook. For mine I have used Sirdar Calico in a gorgeous sunshiney yellow colour! But I am going to be making loads. I love this yarn as its very soft and make with cotton so it doesn't fuzz up.
Step one: Leave around 11 or 12 inches of a tail then make your slip knot. Chain 41 chains.
Row 1: dc into the 4th st from hook, ch2, 2dc into same st, ch1, *skip 2 st then 2dc into that st, ch2, 2dc into same st, ch1 * repeat until the end of the row.
Row 2: Ch3 and turn. 6dc into the ch2 gap from row 1, *sc into the 1ch gap from row 1, dc7 into ch2 gap from row 1* repeat until the end and finish off.
Then using the tail from the beginning, roll the piece up into a rose, stitching all the pieces together at the base so that it doesn't move. If you want you could pop a bead into the centre for a bit of sparkle. I am going to make this one into a brooch I think, add a bit of sunshine to myself...
Hope this tutorial helps!
:)
