About Me
Hi. I’m Zoe, and welcome to my blog, Two Hoots.
As far back as I can remember I’ve loved doing things with my hands, and have always been keen to find new things to keep them busy.
Since focusing heavily on art in school, my hands have slowly found their way from one craft to another over the years, from sketching to sculpting, baking to embroidery. But I didn’t become truly craft-obsessed until Christmas 2010, when I received beginner’s books on knitting and crochet.
Both were things I’d always wanted to try yet remained apprehensive about. It’s safe to say I was as surprised as anyone by how quickly I picked them up and became addicted to them. With each project, my enjoyment and ambition grew - now it’s rare if I don’t have at least a few on the go at a time.
Through various shops that have since come and gone, as well as via presents from friends and hand me downs from family, I’ve amassed quite a collection of craft paraphernalia and a shelf-full of books, as well as learning all the best websites and blogs for ideas and inspiration.
I’ve made hats, scarves, gloves, coasters, place mats, rugs, tea cosies, cuddly toys, dolls, cushions, decorations, cards, bunting, clothes and a patchwork quilt. I have baked all kinds of bread, made jams and soups, painted canvasses, sculpted figurines and tried my hand at origami, cross-stitch and more. I've made things I wear every day, knitwear for my boyfriend, gifts for friends and family, Christmas presents for colleagues and soft toys for new born babies.
Inspired by the burgeoning delight I've found in these crafts and finding many like minded souls across the globe through their blogs, I started Two Hoots in order to share my own makes and stories, and hopefully to connect with and inspire others.
Over Christmas 2013 my man and I purchased our first house together and I have already started making it into a home. When we purchased the house it was in need of some love and care and I want to give it all that I can. Because of this I decided to change the name of my blog and incorporate all that I do for my home.
Welcome to our little home...
Zoë
