Things I have eyes for...

Leaving home is an important time in everyone's lifetime and when you know its coming it gets quite exciting. I found out 3 weeks ago that I am moving out and ever since I have spent most of my time searching the net/shops for things that I need for my new home. The list it seems, is endless with the things that we need, but we will get there eventually. I love old styles of furniture and things that are a little different to everywhere else. These few things are things that I have spotted along the way that I have my eye on, some a little more pricey than others. The Roberts radio is something I am thinking of treating myself too as I have always wanted one, and if the weathers nice, I can take it with me to sit outside...
I am also looking at lots of new projects to take on to make and do for the new home, tonight I have started crocheting a big circular rug! Its going to be smashing I hope, something a little different... Cant wait to show it to you when its finished!

Day trip to London

On Friday (22nd June), I went on a day trip to London. We went around lunch time on the train to Euston and from there went to Camden to meet up with my good friend Toni! She moved down to London a few months ago and we miss her greatly, shes working in fashion and has a lovely little blog here. We visited my favourite place Camden Lock Market and Camden Stables Market. I could spend so much money going through all the racks of great vintage items :)

Then after spending all the money I had, we popped to a local pub for half a Dead Pony. We sat and had a lovely catch up before making our way to Hammersmith and going to the Apollo. For Friday night, was Jack White night!! YAYE!!

It has been a while since we bought our tickets for this gig and I have been trying not to get too excited about it all. I hate getting excited about things that then turn out to be a let down. But with this gig I had nothing to worry about, it was excellent!!

He was on form with songs from all his bands past and present thrown into the set. There's a great review of the gig here.

All in all it was a great day and I really enjoyed myself. I need to go back to London soon though and spend some more in Camden, I wish I lived nearer!

Just because...

I haven't done a Things I have eyes for for a little while now. Blogging has been at the back of my mind due to personal issues, but every so often a girl just needs nice things to make her feel good. So this week I have gone basic but beautiful! These jeans are standard but so good, I really need some new jeans...;) The top's so cute, I have had my eye on this for some time!! The shoes, oh my the shoes, I would wear them always.. :) The bag is different and I love that. And the ring, with the symbol of infinity I really do like...
Nice things :) x

Fathers Day

Today is Fathers Day and to me my dad is very important. From a very early age, although he worked away a lot my dad was always my hero, nothing he did could ever be wrong. I love him loads!

Throughout the years we have had some really great times, and some bad ones. But he will always be my dad.

My biggest memory of my dad is singing Strange Little Girl by the Stranglers to me whenever he played it. It's a song that I will always remind me of him.

My dad!

Date Night

Have you ever decided you want to go on a date night and then got stuck as to what to do? Well one night while mooching through Pinterest for ideas I came across this idea of a Date Night jar. It is a jar full of ideas for date nights!
Now being someone who is indecisive but also a very organised person I went for 5 different types of date; Dinner out, dinner in, activity with expense, activity free (or cheap), and daytime date. Both me and my man wrote a list of things that we love to do together and places that we like to go or would like to go and went for it.

We collected all the bits we needed:

You need Ice lolly sticks, paint (I used acrylic although I did do it a little too thick so maybe a different type would be better), paintbrush, marker pen, jar to fit all your sticks in, decorative bits. :)

I painted my sticks with five different colours for the five different types of date. I chose different reds, pinks and whites.

Then, when they were dry I wrote on my painted sticks with my marker pen. I wrote all the different date ideas that we had made and popped the sticks into the jar.

Then when all the sticks are in the jar pop the lid on. I then just made a fabric square and tied it onto the lid with some ribbon, but you could decorate it any way you would like! So cute. I think this will really help when you both can't decide what you want to do for a date night. I can't wait to try it out!! :)

Jubilee Fascinator

Its Jubilee time and Britain is in the Party mood!! So to go with my 50's Prom dress I have made myself a little red, white and blue fascinator with a bit of sparkle. :)

It is an oval shape and I have used red felt with red sequins, vintage purl and sparkly beads and red and blue buttons. It was only a quick make but it will add a little bit of sparkle to any outfit :) Ohhh super excited for my party now!

Crochet Blanket

Hey folks,
I just thought as I haven't said much this week that I would let you know what I have been up to. I have decided that I am going to make a crochet granny square blanket! I have been making many squares, but its going to take time. I have chosen a really nice golden colour and I am really excited to be making this, I have wanted a crochet blanket of my own for a very long time. I have vintage ones that have been passed down in my family, but one of my own will be really lovely to snuggle up in on a chilly night. :)
Hope you all have a lovely Jubilee weekend!
